LAMB'S EARS

LAMB'S EARS ARE GOOD TO USE AS LOW LYING TYPE PLANTS, GREAT IN HEAT AND LOW WATER. NICE SOFT FUZZY LEAVES AND REDISH FLOWERS GIVE A NICE SMELL.

My Lambs' Ear looked fine during spring and summer. Now some of the leaves on the bottom are browning and it is too big. What should be done to winterize it?

Some of the leaves might die back. Best thing to do is cut away the brown leaves. If I remember right from last time I think new growth came back next growing season. Lamb's ear is perennial and should be OK next spring. As for as winterize it I wouldn't do to much to it because this plant is pretty durable. Have you notice that they are grayish color which mean they are heat and drought resistant plants. Also if you want you lamb's ear to produce more foliage during growing season cut back it flower stems.

As of 11/5/2008 my lamb ears still look good. These plants are hardy.
