DIANTHUS IS WORTH EVERY PENNY

I live in south central Kansas and it gets pretty cold here in the winter but not as cold maybe as northen states but cold enough to kill off any annual plants. Well, from my experience I have been happy with the annual Dianthus because they survive thru the winter. I was confused why they are called annual when the winter here does not kill them. I know they have perennial Dianthus too but why pay more for something when cheaper Dianthus can survive in the winter. I mean cheaper in price not quality. I actually like annual Dianthus because the plant is green more lively to the landscape versus the perennial Dianthus which is gray-ish green and dull...personal taste I guess.

If you live similar to south central Kansas I would recommend annual Dianthus...they are worth every penny.
